Opening day at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale was at times difficult for Gary Scheuerell- sponsored by Mufflers West. He discovered at practice that he was too loose. With some spring changes and a few other minor changes he was able to get the car to go left. Mark Lungerich proved that a great set of tires and a lot of determination could get you the poll. Chad Schug outside poll had a great chance of winning however his car went up in smoke on in the beginning of the race. Sorry about that Chad. Gary did qualify 9^th and was happy with that, saying that he would love to get into the top five at the race’s end. Gary was tight going into the corners and loose coming out… he ran 7^thfor most of the night. Mark held on to the first position for quite a while until Brent Scheidemantle was able to get by Mark with a couple of others freight training  Mark he was pushed back to 3^rd. Brent Scheidemantle won his first race at Toyota Speedway… Way to go Brent! Oh, and Gary Scheuerell #13 car finished fifth…. Just like he wanted!
